Imagi has officially shut down. There is still a possibility they could farm out labor to other companies, but I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for the Gatchaman movie.

I have an odd request...
I have every box set of the ADV Gatchaman series that was released with the Alex Ross cases... except for set #7. I can't seem to find one for sale ANYWHERE...
The only way I can get it is to re-buy the entire run again;(
Any ideas where i might locate this holy grail of mine?
Thanks... and sorry for asking in this venue...
Wendy,
I don't like to hear bad news of a company going out of business, but I would rather not have a Gatchaman movie by Imagi. I did not like some of the promo scenes I saw and I did not prefer the costume/character designs and a number of other elements associated with the project.
I am a big Gatchaman fan and I am not totally against a movie being made, but if it is going to happen, I would rather a bigger company tackle it (like Dreamworks or Disney). I would rather it be either animated or live action, but I don't care for the completely CGI stuff they were doing.
Sometimes, depending on the mood I'm in, I think Gatchaman should be left alone. There will never be a version of it that is better than the original in my opinion. The original series is what I have fond memories of and it is what I go back and watch whenever I miss the characters. Even the OAVs, (as great as they were), were missing that magic spark of what I loved about Gatchaman.
JB,
I have to admit I share your sentiments. I've seen the show mishandled too many times in books and comics and other "reimaginings" to have much faith that the Imagi movie would have knocked my socks off. Trying to make the show "better" seems to rob it of the magic and innocence that came together to make it a success in 1972.
Thanks for writing!
Greg,
Outside of auction sites or asking around forums like the Botp Group on Yahoo Groups, I'm afraid I don't have any answers for you. Sorry!
